Medical Units
Esencan Hospital’s Psychiatry unit is our hospital’s department that specializes in the treatment of all mental problems affecting human life, particularly serious mental health issues such as major depressive disorder, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder.
The unit provides personalized treatments and health support to individuals who need routine assistance, treatment, or a special and controlled environment as a result of a psychological disorder, and specializes particularly in cognitive diseases, learning difficulties, neurodevelopmental disorders, addiction psychology, and behaviors.
At the point of treating mental disorders that reduce quality of life at least as much as physical ailments, medical professionals working within Esencan Hospital follow a gradual process to research the most suitable health solution for the patient. Physicians who have gained expertise in the field through postgraduate education following 6 years of standard medical school education perform a physical examination in the first stage of application to the health center to evaluate the physical aspect of the problem.
Following this, especially if there is an addiction-related problem, various laboratory tests are requested from the patient. At this stage, collaboration is made with technicians working in Esencan Hospital’s central laboratory to reach results in the shortest time possible. During the same period, communication is also established with neurology specialists so that the situation can be evaluated from many different perspectives. Then, a psychological evaluation is performed to gather information about the patient’s thoughts, emotions, and behavioral patterns. After all these studies, a personalized treatment is designed and the patient’s recovery process is monitored in a manner appropriate to the nature of psychiatry.
Mental disorders that most affect society, such as depressive disorder, restless leg syndrome, anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive behaviors, neurosis, trauma and stress-related disorder, premature ejaculation, borderline, dissociative amnesia, and anorexia, are diagnosed and treated at Esencan Hospital’s psychiatry unit through the gradual process we mentioned above.
In addition to eliminating the mental problems that adults struggle with, pediatric psychiatry practices are also carried out within the unit. Neurodevelopmental disorders that are commonly seen and mostly emerge during childhood and infancy, such as attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorder, and learning difficulties, are also diagnosed and treated in this department.
