Medical Units
The neurology department is our hospital’s unit that focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of acute and chronic disorders included in the group referred to as nervous and muscular diseases. The Esencan Hospital neurology department, where all diagnostic and treatment stages are completed when problems related to the brain, spinal cord, brainstem, and nervous and muscular systems arise in adults, children, and elderly individuals, employs physicians who have completed their specialization through postgraduate education in neurology – neuroscience after completing 6 years of standard medical school education, as well as nurses specialized in the same field.
The neurology department primarily focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of neuromuscular and cerebrovascular diseases, disorders related to brain vascular problems, movement disorders, dementia – Alzheimer’s, Multiple Sclerosis (MS), and epilepsy. Additionally, pacemaker adjustments are performed in the Esencan Hospital neurology department following surgical operations.
Following consultation with the department that provides healthcare solutions for the treatment of many diseases ranging from dizziness and balance disorders to nervous and muscular diseases, after a detailed examination, close monitoring of potential diseases is ensured through intraoperative imaging methods, while early diagnosis and treatment, which are crucial in the field of neurology, are made possible. Following imaging, if necessary, muscle and nerve biopsies are processed and evaluated in collaboration with the central laboratory within Esencan Hospital. After reviewing all results, treatment options are evaluated not only by the neurology specialist but also with an interdisciplinary healthcare team; at this stage, the most appropriate treatment for the patient is shared with the patient along with the rationale.
In addition to the general neurology outpatient clinic, Esencan Hospital intensive care services, EEG (electroencephalography) neurosonology – neurovascular ultrasonography laboratory, and rehabilitation center work continuously to ensure patients receive the healthcare services they need completely and on time, achieving optimal recovery.
The Esencan Hospital neurology department, which provides the services required by modern medicine together with specialist neurologists, surgeons, medical technicians, and other healthcare workers, is open to patient applications 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
