Mammography

It is a special X-ray device used in breast imaging using high resolution and low-dose X-rays. It is used as a routine screening method to detect early breast cancer in women who do not have any breast-related complaints. It is used for diagnostic purposes in women with breast complaints and men with palpable breast mass.

It is recommended that women who have no complaints for breast cancer screening should have a mammography examination once a year after the age of 40. It also helps in determining whether a palpable mass in the breast is benign or malignant. In addition, stereotaxic breast marking is performed with mammography.
